Tahquitz Falls
October 21, 2005
Took a trip up to Tahquitz Falls today with Ed and Louisa. the trip was pleasant and the falls were flowing quite well given the time of the year. Thankfully, the air temperature around the falls was about 20 degrees cooler than down at the mouth of the canyon. A few trees downstream had begun to turn color which made for some beautiful photographs. I'd definitely recommend this trip to anyone in the Palm Springs area that is looking for a short, scenic hike (or refuge from the heat). The falls are nice and the hiking isn't too long or strenuous. After visiting the falls, we headed up to Oak Glen for some dinner and apple cider. Turned out to be a great day with great friends. A few of my photos from our trip can be found below. Enjoy!

You would never know looking at this picture that it was taken in the middle of the hot desert!

Perfect day in the canyon

The falls emptied into a pool plenty deep enough for swimming... unfortunately swimming is not allowed.

C'est Moi, The Photographer... Thanks to Louisa for snapping the photo for me.
