Pacific Crest Trail: Eagle Rock
December 13, 2006
Nicole and I took Tippy on a hike up to Eagle Rock in the San Diego Mountains. Eagle Rock is near Warner Springs on the Pacific Crest Trail. Upon arrival, it's easy to see how this all natural rock formation got its name! The rock pile resembles a huge eagle with its wings slightly outstretched... similar to the eagle on the back of the Quarter... although the head is facing the wrong direction... but you get the point. The hike starts off along an Oak-lined creek and finishes in the grass covered hills south of Warner Springs. A pleasant winter hike.

Appropriately named, Eagle Rock on the Pacific Crest Trail near Warner Springs.

Nicole copies the signature "Thumbs Up" pose while Tippy investigates an unfamiliar airborne smell.

Tippy is happy as a clam exploring the hills of San Diego.
