Part 2: Little Lakes Valley: July 23 - 24, 2006

 

 

Heart Lake and a whole host of 13,500+ ft peaks.

 

We retreat to the tent as the skies open up. My hat soaks up what seems like 10 pounds of rain before I can make it into the tent... it begins to warp under the weight of all that water!

 

We spent the better part of the afternoon in the tent as thunderstorms paraded their way across Little Lakes Valley. After a few hours, the rain let up just enough to make some dinner and take some creek photos.

I believe that peak is Bear Creek Spire (13,713 ft).

 

Despite the poor lighting conditions, I still managed to get a few good shots.

 

Rain drops keep fallin' on my head...
